Getting a good night's sleep is important as you allow the body to rest and rejuvenate. For kids, the lack of snooze time will indirectly disrupt their growth and mood during the day. They will be grumpy all day long and may throw a tantrum or two. Finding the right bedding for example a good quality sheet set and pillow will help promotes a better slumber for your child. The habit of purchasing excellent quality sheets should start from the beginning of your child's life. There are a few things to consider before buying a cot sheet. After all your baby will do a lot of time in their cot sleeping - hopefully! Your baby's cot should be a haven for him to relax and get some shut eye. A growing baby need as much sleep as possible and it should be like sleeping on a bed of clouds. If not, even the slightest sound or movement will jolt him awake.Unlike adults, a baby can only cry when they feel uncomfortable. Often times, when a baby cries in his cot, you will immediately check his nappy or feed him. Sometimes, the only plausible reason for the outburst has something to do with the reaction of the cot sheet to his delicate skin. A fitted cot sheet is very practical because it will not untuck easily when your baby moves around in the cot. It is also easy to take off and put on. A normal sheet can be hazardous as it can undo and possibly entangle your baby and suffocate him. With a fitted sheet Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) can be easily avoided. The thread counts in the fabric will play an important part in providing comfort for your baby. Like adults, we hate that scratchy feeling when lying down in a sheet with certain thread counts. Your baby's delicate skin can feel the abrasive maybe ten times more than you. Keep in mind; more thread counts mean less or no irritation to your baby paper-thin skin. Any thread count from 200 up with be comfortable. Also you may wish to look for 'combed cotton' as it is softer.Although the sheet is aesthetically pleasing, it does not mean the material used is of good quality. You should give more thoughts about the material used as well. Chemicals have been used widely in every product you can think of. And your baby may experience rashes or allergies if came in contact with linens that used it. 100% cotton is the safest choice because this natural fibre has good ventilation and free of any chemicals. Cotton is best used during those scorching summer months to keep your child cool. It is also the best option all year round because of it natural properties.Ashling Punnett exclusively designs for a children's furniture and kid's linen store in Australia called Lilly and Lolly.Lilly & Lolly specialises in high quality linen and furniture for kids.
