Following the recent server crash at Danger, Microsoft and T-Mobile technicians have been working to attempt to recover personal data that was lost. One million users of the Sidekick, a phone that is popular with many U.S. celebrities including Paris Hilton, were informed that all their personal data had been lost as a result of a fault with the servers.Microsoft use a "cloud computing" service to store huge amounts of personal data files on a remote communal server rather than on the users physical device. At the time it was thought that all the data was permanently lost but now Microsoft have recovered much of the personal contacts and so can be accessed by the owners again. The method for restoring Sidekick contacts is outlined below:Before you start you need to have an active Sidekick Data Plan. For the users who have changed their data plan they will be required to revert back to their Sidekick Data Plan to access their lost contacts list. How to Export Your Contacts. 1. 2. The next step is to select "Restore your Contacts" (Recover and restore your Sidekick contacts).
