When most of us think about home security systems we are overcome with a strong sense of annoyance. This feeling is not brought by the product itself, which if we stop and think about it is very useful in our society, but by the image of those very irritating, pushy sales people that knock at our doors every single summer. We all seem to know someone that is, or at some time in there lives has been a door to door home security systems salesperson and we probably love them, think that they are great people, and even enjoy hearing one of their sales story once in a while. But as much as we love them and respect them we are also very grateful that they never came knocking at our doors. If you are anything like me or most Americans your decision of buying a product or service is mostly determined by the experience you have at the store or when approached by a salesperson. If the experience you have when purchasing the product is positive you will most likely buy it, be happy with it, and even appreciate its qualities when with others you know. On the contrary, if you feel pushed, taken advantage of, and not appreciated as a customer you will consider it a negative experience and will probably not buy the product. The problem though arises when you had a terrible experience and the salesperson talked you into buying the product anyway, then you will most likely end up hating your purchase, the salesman, and the store you bought it from for the rest of your life. Most door to door home security systems salespeople are so aggressive and determined to leave our house with a sale that they forget that is not about them taking a sale home, it is about us making the right choice for our circumstances, feeling confident of our decision, and happy with our purchase. Because of this most people have a negative experience when approached by our door to door friends and are overwhelmed with a feeling of rejection when they hear the word home security systems. My suggestion is to not judge a book by its cover, just because there are many "rotten eggs" (salesmen) out there that want to take advantage of us, it does not mean that there aren't a few good ones that have our best interest at heart. The truth is that the product itself is very useful and serves the great purpose of rendering our homes a safer place for our families as well as our belongings. And fortunately for all of you that think like me there are many stores around the United States that sale home security systems and are willing to take the time to help us choose an alarm system that will fulfill our needs and make us happy with our purchase.
