Don't like the idea of having to use your expensive laptop to watch a DVD movie when you are on the road? After all, your laptop is used for other things in your daily life. You may use it for business, personal records and other documents, along with installation of expensive software. The possibility of it getting lost or stolen, not to mention the horrible event of dropping it, causing damage would be devastating.Fortunately in 1998 portable DVD players were created in order to aid the ability to watch movies on DVDs. This breakthrough made it easy to watch your favorite movie from your chair at the beach, camping in the woods, and just keeping the kids quiet in the back seat during trips. This gave you the option of leaving you laptop at home and not being reminded of work. Another key benefit is that many portable DVD players on the market can be plugged to your external TV/monitor you have at home.I use to bring my laptop on vacation to our beach house on the CT shore. Few years ago, it was accidentally knocked off the table. Not only could we no longer watch movies for the rest of the week, I had a repair bill. Not soon after that I purchased my first portable DVD player. Now my laptop is secure at home while on vacation.Another bonus is if the portable DVD player gets damaged, the cost of replacement is about 1/3 the cost of having to replace a laptop. Trust me, I have been there.Great for the home or travel, a portable DVD player would keep the entire family busy for hours as they watch their favorite movies on vacation or on family trips in the car.Dave Lewis is the owner of Tech-Know, llc with over 25 years of experience in Information Technology.
