Why a Free Reverse Cell Number Trace Just Isn't What it Claims to Be

In this day and age, technology is outstanding. There is no longer a need to contact a private detective anymore. Ten years ago, investigators demanded a lot of money for their help. They were human machines so they were clearly a lot slower than computers. Now, if you are in need of a reverse cell phone number lookup, you just need to have access to a computer and the internet. Go from waiting for what seems like centuries with an investigator, to two minutes with a computer. You may be wondering if you can use this service for free. Well, that is a loaded question. In America, cell phone numbers aren't listed in the yellow or white pages. They are considered to be personal if compared to landlines. There is a decree called the 'Wireless 411 Privacy Act' that is meant to keep wireless information private. If cell phone numbers were to be listed for all the public to see for free, this privacy will no longer exist. Now, our cell phones are luckily not being showered with telemarketer calls like our home phones are but if this act didn't exist, they would be. This is because there is no such thing as a phone book for wireless providers. There are no pages for Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, Cingular, etc., for a reason. The most that you may get for free is just the name of the wireless carrier and maybe where the user made their registration (city, state and which specific location). But what you can't get is the name of the owner. If the name of the owner was publicly available, then the wireless privacy laws would be violated!
