The Suggestion of Success

In order to play rugby, a number of items are required, the most obvious being the ball! Items of clothing for sports are often quite specific, and are so for a reason - they will either serve to aid or protect a sportsperson as they play. Rugby boots are no exception. Loads of styles of boots are available today, as sportswear manufacturers vie for sales. Modern advances in sports shoe materials and design mean that the majority of these rugby boots are perfectly suited to their task, although some are more efficient than others in certain circumstances (for example wet conditions). Most rugby players are aware that boots in similar price ranges are likely to perform equally, though some have preferred brands or designs. When choosing boots produced by a reputable sportswear brand, most experienced rugby players know whether they want leather or specific ankle support. The appearance of the shoe will be the deciding factor when choosing between two similar designs, and manufacturers are aware of this. They are continually trying to produce better looking, more modern boots, whilst maximising performance. As rugby is played in teams which tend to have a set colour uniform, the majority of boots are quite plain so that they compliment as many uniforms as possible. They are often mainly black with simple decorations, which are often in white. Of course this is not always the case, bright colours are sometimes used to make a boot stand out or be deemed more attractive, blue and red are both popular colours for detailing.A lot of young people are very appearance conscious, only wearing certain brand clothing, or clothing with a certain look that is the fashion in their group of friends. For both children and teenagers, peer pressure is a very real influence, and fitting with others in as much as possible is seen as a way of minimising the risk of negative attention. Put simply, no one wants to be bullied purely for wearing the 'wrong' clothes! In an ideal world, this would not be a concern for anybody, but unfortunately it is. The desire to have the latest clothing extends to sports, and though schools often have set uniforms for gym classes, boots and shoes are often not included, so choosing trainers and rugby boots is up to the youngster and their parents. As branded products are often pricey, it is worthwhile searching for deals online once a particular style has been selected.Another way in which companies which make rugby boots appeal to customers is through the effective use of style names. Manufacturers participate in a lot of market research to try and 'figure out' their target consumer. Even today, rugby is seen as a predominantly male sport, and boot names reflect this to an extent. The names of designs are often taken from nature, martial arts or history and denote power, skill, agility and integrity. Some names are more practical and refer to the game of ruby itself, and how they aid play. It is easy to see why rugby boots are available in such variety, and there should be a style available to suit all tastes, abilities and game positions.
