So your thinking of taking up the game of golf and looking for a good tutorial for golf beginners? Well, your in luck! Because in this article I'm going to go over a few basic things you need to get started. Why has golf become so popular?Well, to start with it's a great way to get a good workout, be outside and also spend time with friends. But most of all golf is so popular because it's a game that can't ever be perfected no matter what level you play.Your scorecard, over time, shows your improvement, which keeps you playing again and again. Here is a basic tutorial for golf beginners who have no idea how the game of golf is played.Golf is played normally on an 18 hole course. Each hole has a number that you are trying to reach. This number is called "Par". Which is the number of tee shots, fairway shots, chips and putts it takes to get the ball in the hole.Par is based on the length and difficulty of the hole. Normally par ranges from 3 to 5 on each individual hole. If you get the ball in the hole in 3 shots on a par 3 you made par! If you made a 4 on the hole it is called a bogie, and if you made a 2, it's called a birdie. On just about every golf course there are what's called "hazards". Hazards consist of water, sand traps, and trees which are strategically placed to make the hole more of a challenge to the golfer. As a beginner you should try and find a course that plays easier and has very few hazards.Normally 1 player is designated to keep score for the group. Groups usually consist of foursomes but you can also play in a threesome, twosome or one great thing about golf you can play it alone as well.Although someone may be keeping score you are responsible for your own, so I strongly suggest keeping a separate card while playing. It's just a good way to make sure the other person hasn't made a mistake in adding your score. At the end, of the round each persons score is added up and the lowest score is the best. It's highly advisable for a beginning golfer to not take their game too seriously. It takes a lot of time and practice to be able to get good at this game.If there is one piece of advice that I can give in this tutorial for golf beginners is when first starting out you must develop the proper fundamentals of the golf swing. If you start with the proper fundamentals it will help you improve much quicker! If you would like to continue your golf education I've got a FREE 4 part tutorial for golf beginners series that will go more in detail on how to play the game of golf.
