When designing a bedroom for a child you must remember who the room belongs to. Be sure your child has some input in the selections you make.Sometimes kids seem to want everything they see, or not, depending on the child's personality and age. They do not understand how to design their rooms. You will need lots of patience, sometimes you will have to be firm with them and say "no" we're not going to do that. The theme is important. Will it be animals, space ships, fire trucks, cowboys, bugs, flowers, ships, trains, or something else? Here are some questions you will have to answer. For instance:1.What is the amount of money you are going to spend?
2.What colors are you going to use?
3.How much control will you give your child when it comes to picking what they want?
4.What product/s will fit your needs best?
5.Are you going to do the whole room or just the bed? (There are lots of kids bedding possibilities, when this is coupled with the right bedding accessories you will have a winning combination).
6.Will you paint? What about wall borders? Pictures on the Wall? How about rugs, clocks, growth charts, sheets, comforters and the list can go on and on.

Like most things, this project can get out of hand. What starts out with a simple idea can soon become a very complicated problem. You need to spend some time considering how far do you want to take this? The age of your child may be a factor. If he/she is at a transformation age, it may not be a good idea to change the whole room if in a year or two they will outgrow what you are going to do. For instance, if your child is an infant, get toddler bedding. This way you will save by buying the bedding once instead of twice.

Be sure to spend some time with your child, maybe looking at different websites. Letting them see what is available, this can be a big help. It will tell you what your child has a passion for, and can be useful in choosing everything from your theme to colors of products.

At this point it seems that we have more questions than answers. However, it is important to evaluate the whole idea, come up with different scenarios and settle on one. Then the trick is to stick to it. This will save you time and money in the long run. Changing your mind in the middle of a project can get expensive. A well thought out plan is a money saver! The reward is at the end of the project when you see the delight on your child's face. This is the truly great thing about kids, their excitement. Wouldn't it be great to have that kind of zest for your life? The end result will make all your hard work pay off.My name is Dave miller. I have been self employed for twenty years before retiring.
