Everyone has heard of Google, it is undoubtedly the most well known brand name of the internet after leapfrogging the likes of Microsoft and Yahoo. Google has now decided to venture into the mobile phones sector after technology has seen a recent boom enabling people to access the internet at broadband speeds.T mobile have teamed up with the internet giants in a bid to obtain a share of the already competitive internet mobile phone market, they have created a device called the G1. This comes after apple recently launched the iPhone which has seen an extremely positive response throughout the globe. The G1 has pretty much the same features as the iPhone, with the ability to phone, text, email, and use the internet, camera, MP3 player and GPS but it will need additional features if it wants to obtain the leading share in the market. This is where Google have stepped in, they have provided Google applications and open software which will enable the device to download the latest programmes or applications when they are developed, which makes it have the edge on its rival. This kind of software will be installed into all new modern mobile phones making them more useful for future developments.Google do not actually produce the phone, they only provide the open software. The phone has only recently been released and is set at £720, a higher price than the iPhone which is set at £639.The G1 has been criticised by many stating that it does not offer much more than the iPhone, but T mobile have responded by saying "What's better - a Ferrari or a Mercedes? It depends what you want".Cheap mobile phones are out there if you shop around, many providers offer free mobile phones now in a bid to gain your custom. Use online price comparison sites to make sure you find the best mobile phone deals out there.
