Don't get me wrong. Anger isn't bad when you get angry at the right things and for the right reasons. However, anger becomes a problem when you get angry at the right things the wrong way or even the wrong things the wrong way. You hear a lot of people say stuff when they get angry like 'I couldn't control myself', or 'it was over before I knew what was happening' which all brings me to the question 'is anger an instinct or is it a product of choice?Research indicates that we are all born with the instinct of anger. Anger is actually an inherent emotion that is devised to save us in times of intense danger. The same research however indicates that the way anger is expressed is learned. In other words, it isn't some thing that we have no control over.Aggression is an expression of anger that experts scientists say is learned. Study of the human has shown that aggression is not part of normal human nature. The essence of all this is that anger can be controlled. You can never be totally rid of anger because like is stated, it is an inherent part of your protective defenses. However, you can be rid of the control that anger may have over you. That's right, anger controls several people and makes them act in ways that they would normally not have acted. You can decide that anger will not get the best of you by learning how to control your interpretation and your responses. You can decide to walk away when someone makes you angry instead of giving into the urge to give the person a good pummeling. You can decide to keep shut even in the face of the vilest verbal abuse and be the bigger person in the conflict. You can decide to control anger by letting go and forgetting past wrongs. You can decide to keep not rein on your anger even when provoked to your very last nerve. Anger is a choice. To overcome any anger problems that you may have, you will need to show of a conscious effort to clamp down hard on any show of uncontrolled anger.Chris Brady provides more free and extremely helpful information in his content rich Anger Management Help Home page.
