There is a new model in portable satellite radio and MP3 players called the Stiletto 2 and so far it is receiving great reviews since its October 2007 debut. The website CNET, which provides reviews of electronics and technology, has given the Stiletto 2 "thumbs up" in a review. CNET is also a great website to learn about the other radio models in this field for all of you comparison shoppers out there. The latest in satellite radio technology debuts just in time for the holiday season. Retailers are expected to be flooded with request for the Stiletto 2 due to the new features that make storing and listening to favorite tunes easy with a push of a button."The new Stiletto measures 4.3x1.9x0.6 inches and weighs 4.3 ounces, making it both smaller and lighter (by about 25%) than its predecessor--a definite plus, as one of our complaints about the 100 was its chunky build," the review states. "The new player also offers enhanced WiFi capability with support for commercial hot spots, and it has a microSD card slot for memory expansion--both features that were lacking in the Stiletto 100."Another reviewer on CNET said, "...SIRIUS has hit a homer with this one, 802.11 B,G, smaller build, built in charge light next to on off switch, built in 2GB of memory and you can add up to 8 GB in mini SD card. The finish on the radio is the same as the Motorola Z3 and it is a solid feel to it not that flimsy plastic feel of the 10."The Stiletto 2 gives music lovers access to their songs anywhere via the Sirius Satellite Radio broadcasting subscriptions. Subscribers can store content by:-Pressing a single button to store individual songs as they are heard
-Setting up scheduled recordings to capture up to 100 hours of programming
-Storing music broadcasts from a subscriber's favorite music channels to create Radio Replays
-Songs can be purchased and added to the Stiletto 2 using online music services very similar to iTunes. Satellite Radios with MP3 capability are "making the personal music player better for listeners, raising the bar in the field of audio entertainment," said Mel Karmazin, chief executive officer of SIRIUS. He goes on to add the it allows you to carry an "unlimited variety of sports, talk, and commercial-free music wherever you go."Also if you happen to be an XM subscriber there are great portable options available to you as well. The radio is called the Inno and even comes in different colors. Anyway you look at it, the latest and greatest in Satellite Radio would be an awesome Christmas gift to anyone on your list this year.Bob Maines is a Satellite Radio Advisor with Sirius Specials, the premiere source for the best SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
