Acne a disease of the skin that strikes terror in the hearts of young people. It creates uncertainty in the individual and is detrimental to one's self-esteem and confidence. The skin, a living thing that needs to be cleansed regularly. It is so desirable to have a clear and blemish free skin. The importance and desire to have a beautiful skin cannot be over-emphasized, and is an important part of the makeup of most females. It is so very important to all people. A beautiful and flawless skin is everyone's desire and dream.I can remember my school days and the actual humiliation of attending assembly ... hiding at the back of the hall, because I felt shame at having a bad skin. There can be little doubt that having a bad skin causes serious flaws in one's character, self-confidence and the ability to mix freely with people especially the opposite sex, without fear of being humiliated. Regardless of trying various creams and lotions Acne seems to worsen instead of getting better. What to do then? There are literally thousands of lotions, potions, pills and what have you in the marketplace. The manufacturers would all have you believe that if you use their product your Acne will magically disappear. Nonsense! Why do some people develop Acne whilst others are not affected? It is important to note that Acne comes from within and should be treated accordingly, that is, from the inside, and not rubbing some messy cream all over your skin.Quoting from the Journal of the American Medical Association: "Diet plays no role in acne treatment in most patients, even large amounts of certain foods have not clinically exacerbated acne". How can we the common people argue against their findings? With years of experience behind them can we say nonsense! This is not so. I firmly believe the adage "you are what you eat!" That such findings fills one with doubt is understandable. Have these illustrious gentlemen been wrong in the past? Or does anyone really know how and what the causes of Acne are?Certain facts would appear to have been clinically proven and substantiated. However, there is one thing I firmly believe in and that is the power of the mind and ones faith. Terminally ill people have cured themselves in the past when Doctors and Surgeons have given up. The correct diet can in many cases dramatically reduce inflammation and sometimes even completely clear up one's acne. Some people have discovered that eating certain foods actually makes their acne worse, and cutting out these foods definitely improves their acne. Why is this? Because certain people have an allergic response to certain foods, which actually triggers their acne and cause flare-ups. Because acne comes from within how can one effectively deal with the problem by applying external methods?Unfortunately it is safe to say that normal medications will never cure your acne. The drug companies, however, would like you to believe that their medication will cure acne. Advocating a clear skin diet will mean less money for the big drug companies. Do you believe that they will want to commit financial suicide? Not likely, too much money is involved. Despite what the journal of the American Medical Association says about diet and acne, to me it would appear to be absolute hogwash. It was an irresponsible statement to make without proper attention to detail. If diet is not responsible then how do these gentlemen explain the almost complete non-evidence of acne among non-westernized people?Search the archives of dermatology.Loren Cordain, PhD; Staffan Lindeberg, MD, PhD; Magdalena Hurtado, PhD; Kim Hill, PhD; S. Boyd Eaton, MD; Jennie Brand-Miller, PhD Described Acne Vulgaris as a disease of Western Civilization. I reiterate diet would appear to be the problem. As an example if you have Acne do not drink any milk! Diet is the primary thing that shapes who we are. We are what we Eat! It has a cumulative effect on our bodies, which includes our skin. Are you aware that the Food and Drug Administration allows 750 million pus cells in every liter of milk produced in America? The next time you see a pimple on your face, and you are a lover of milk then- think about it. Scientists already point a finger at milk as one of the worst acne aggravating foods: "As pointed our by Dr. Jerome Fiisher, "About 80 percent of cows that are giving milk are pregnant and are throwing off hormones continuously. "Progesterone breaks down into androgens, which have been implicated as a factor in the development of acne. Dr Fisher observed that his teenage acne patients improved as soon as the milk drinking stopped."We have now reached the point where you are probably thinking and asking yourself what can be done about Acne? Some will take longer than others to achieve a clear skin, but it can be done. Some effort must be put in, and it all comes down to choices. Use pure natural ingredients such as diluted tea tree oil to clean your skin externally and do so gently. Do not squeeze on your face you will damage your skin.To put you on the right track in handling your acne problem the best advice that I can give you is to get hold of Mike Walden's best-selling e-book "Acne No More - Open the Door to an Acne free life."Mike Walden is a certified nutritionist, independent medical researcher, natural health consultant and has written dozens of holistic health articles and has been featured in ezines and print magazines, as well as on hundreds of websites worldwide.
