The Difference Between Winners and Others

We all have goals and dreams that we want to achieve. Some achieve more than others, and some have more goals than others. Yet what is that makes one succeed, while others are not as successful? It is the difference in the mentality of winners and others.Winners take responsibility for their lives:
In life there are two types of tings, there are things you can control, and things you cannot control. Winners accept complete responsibility for the things they can control, which are their thoughts, their actions, and their decisions. The most significant factor though is that winners also control the way they react to the things they cannot control.Others don't accept complete responsibility for the things they can control, and they blame others for the things they cannot control.By being in control of you life, you determine whether you succeed or not, and you decide what you achieve. You are in control.Winners set goals to achieve:
Only about 3% of adults actually set goals and write them down on paper. It is no coincidence then that this 3% of people achieves more than the other 97%. Why is this? As Jim Rohn says, "people with goals succeed because they know where they're going."When you have a target to aim for you do everything you can to reach that target. You are more aware of the opportunities available to you that will allow you to achieve your goals. If you know where you want to go, you just need to figure out how to get there. On the other hand, how can you achieve a goal you do not have? How can someone hit a target they cannot see? People without goals do not succeed because they do not know what they are aiming for. Imagine an Olympic archer being blindfolded during the competition and being told to have a shot for a gold medal. What do you think his chances of success are? Slim or none? You need to set goals in order to achieve them.Winners believe they will succeed:
You need to believe in your abilities and believe you will achieve your goals. This is a result of the first success factor of being responsible for you life. By in control of your thoughts and actions, you are able to determine whether you succeed, and your achievements are not in the hands of others. By believing in your abilities you in the belief that you can, and will, succeed. Those that are not in control of their life are not as confident in their abilities because they do not determine whether they succeed or not; their success is in the hands of someone else.Believe in yourself, and believe in your abilities, and you will succeed.Winners take action, and never give up:
Some people can talk a good game, but end up watching from the sidelines. Winners don't talk the game because they are too busy playing the game. All the goal setting, all the positive thinking, and believing will amount to nothing if you are not willing to take action on these goals. The ultimate dividing factor between winners and others is the amount of effort, and work they are willing to put to achieve their goals. Winners will work harder, longer, and smarter to achieve success, than others are even willing to contemplate.Furthermore, winners will never give up. Success comes through perspiration, and persistence, and winners understand this. Those who do not succeed are not willing to put in the time and effort to achieve their goals, and ultimately end up blaming the system or others for their misfortune.Winners take responsibility for their success, and work hard to achieve it.Now that you know that you have an idea of why winners win, and why others don't, nothing can stop you now from succeeding.Simon Lim is a motivational writer and the creator of Rubama.com.
