      Everybody likes to say that the bigger the package is, the better it is. Well, I have to disagree on that. Quantity might be a great term to quantify the amount of information you receive e.g. number of pages, how thick is the book, etc, but what everybody is not seeing is that sometimes, a mere appearance of quality can overshadow a 5,000 page ebook completely. How much should you write for your next ebook is completely dependent on the topic you're about to embark upon.First and foremost, ask yourself, are you writing a fiction or a non-fiction ebook?Traditionally, people tend to over write non fiction books to an extent that judging from reviews by various users, a 280 page ebook could easily be written in 20 pages. You can see this in abundant in Amazon.com's book reviews. As you may have guessed, over delivering a non-fiction ebook is a much bigger issue than under delivering one. One could easily throw in additional information on top of the main relevant content to make an appearance that the ebook is in fact, full with facts.Taken from surveys from various authors, the average level of expectation from non-fiction ebook readers simply points out that they expect only one really good chapter to provide relevant information, and when that happens they feel that they have gotten their monies worth. Having said this, provided that you have a really high impact, nowhere to be found information within your grasp, chances are even a 10 page ebook will give you some really good results, regardless whether you're giving your ebook for free or selling it away.When it comes to fiction based ebooks, well it's a totally different story. Depending on the title or theme of the book, you could write one from within the hundreds to even in the thousands. If you have a wide and remarkable imagination, together with that flow of idea which keeps the readers reading, then there's no real answer when enough is enough. Although to some extent, sometimes it's rather inappropriate to write a tad too much within just one volume. If you have really a huge bank of ideas, just waiting to get out, probably splitting up your ideas into a few volumes would be the best bet.One of the other challenges of a fiction based ebook is that readers tend to be more comfortable reading from a printed material given that it's a long read. Unless printed out, not many people could stand the hours of admiring the monitor screen, or in other cases, reading your book while lying down or in any other situation that the readers may find the most comfortable.Other factors you need to consider in the "thickness" of your ebook include the reasonability level for your readers to get / read / digest / download in one go. If you think that you're giving away heavyweight materials, which you think that might take a considerable amount of time from your readers, then making it smaller (both file and content size) or simpler could help your readers in the long run. You as the author, should guide the readers on how they should tackle your valuable information, whether to go at one go or by stages.Images. As we all know it, an image can be worth a thousand words. If you think that you can save your time writing in plain words by putting in images, by all means please do so. Images can be invaluable as they can provide information where words fail. Better still, combine both images and words together when situation allows.Whatever you write, together with the additional images you put in, will consequently be the final size of your ebook. If you put too much info into a single ebook and leave it unoptimized, probably the file size will shoot sky high, causing difficulty for different group of users who have slow or limited internet connections.Always remember that how much information you want to include in your ebook is exactly how much info your readers want to read. Analyze and research your potential group of readers and write based on their needs and requirements, as this will ultimately be your determining factor on how much time and effort you should put into your ebook.
