Men can consume around 1600 calories, depending on their starting weight.

If you love to eat and you cannot stand the thought of starving yourself to lose weight, then perhaps a diet rich in protein would work well for you. There are several eating plans that focus on low carb living. You can have unlimited proteins such as meat or dairy, but you have to limit your intake of breads and sugars. For those who enjoy carbohydrates, this diet would be a nightmare. Instead, you would benefit from a low fat diet. Try cutting out all high fat foods and eat things that are lean and healthy. Check the ingredient labels for nutritional information and pay special attention to the saturated fat content.

The most fool proof method for losing weight is to follow a clean diet. Try to steer towards organic foods and completely avoid anything with added preservatives. Toss out all of the manufactured foods and stick to a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables with an occasional serving of lean meat such as chicken or turkey. By eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, you are automatically cutting your calories. An added benefit will be all the extra fiber you are consuming at the same time. Fruits like apples, pears, or even papayas are rich in fiber which is extremely filling. This will keep you from getting hungry.

You will reap a lot of great health benefits when you decide to change the way you eat. When you cut down calories and amp up your exercise, you will naturally lose weight. Find some foods that you enjoy and then add them into your diet. Eliminate the unhealthy foods from your kitchen and you will start to see your body transform.
