Salads of fruits with a low GI are a perfect meal to include in a diabetic diet. Diabetics may as well include fruits in their meal plans as a mid-day bite.

Vegetables on the other hand are other best options for a diabetic person. Celery, Broccoli, green beans, green beans, peppers, peppers, snow peas, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumber, summer squash, asparagus, spinach, and lettuce are some of the vegetables with low GI of 15. Moreover, a diabetic person should avoid broad beans; they are of GI of 79 which could be dangerous. Again vegetable salads are good meal options. Vermicelli, fettuccine, protein-enriched spaghetti, and meat-filled ravioli have a very low GI somewhere below 50.

There are certain pastas that are harmful diet option for a diabetic person; however, there are some that perfectly fit into a diet for a diabetic. Brown rice pasta, macaroni, and cheese have a very high GI of almost 90, which could be dangerous for a diabetic person. You have options of mixing some vegetables with your pasta for a healthy treat.
