One of the first things that women have to do if they are considering pregnancy is to lose weight in a gradual manner. A gradual weight loss for women can be achieved if they switch to a carefully regulated diet. The most crucial thing to do is eliminate all superfluous and unhealthy foods from your diet. Refined flours, polyunsaturated fats and sugars should be the first things to go.

Substitute whole grain flours for refined flours since you can't do without these carbohydrates. Add a lot of fruits and vegetables to your diet. These nutrient dense foods play two very vital roles. The first one is that they tend to be very low in calories. These are the best foods for giving you the maximum vitamins and enzymes for the least possible calories. The second is that these nutrients will keep your body ready to nourish a child should you be successful in getting pregnant.

Another way to achieve gradual weight loss in women is to exercise. Do not make the mistake of exercising too strenuously because this will severely reduce your ability to conceive a child. Do some light cardio exercises such as jogging or brisk walking. This is not the time for you to be doing intensive resistance training. Remember that your body needs a certain level of fat in order for you to be able to get pregnant.

This is the best combination of ways that can achieve safe weight loss for women just before they attempt to conceive a baby. This will also help you have a safer and easier pregnancy and you will have less post baby fat to lose.
