Here are the coaching strategies being used by the big dogs. Learn and use them to increase your coaching effectiveness in no time:
1. Develop a game plan. Have a clear vision and plan of action that are geared toward achieving the results desired by your clients. You will need to do this so you can determine ahead of time where your clients might get side tracked so you can do recalibration before the coaching program starts.
2. Align your game plan to the goals of your clients. Obviously, you will need to make sure that your game plan is focused to the needs and demands of your clients and that it is designed to help these people get everything they need to reach their goals. Explain to these people how your action plans can help them get to where they would like to be to get them motivated.
3. Assess the skill levels of your clients. Isolate the needed skills required to realize the pre-set goals of the coaching program and see if your clients posses them. For example, if you are coaching people about business management, you need to know if they possess the following skills; people skills, delegation skills, coaching and mentoring skills, etc. By doing so, you know right away where to focus your efforts to give your clients their exact learning needs.
4. Consider your clients' level of comprehension. As a coach, you need to find the best ways on how you can send your message across without causing confusion. I recommend that you determine their level of comprehension and use this as a guide when talking to them. Use the words and language that they are using in their everyday conversion to promote better understanding.
