In part two of these brief articles dealing with personal spiritual growth and the advantage of asking good questions, I suggest (once again) that you:
1. Find a place to relax (if only for a few moments),
2. Do whatever you can do to slow down on the inside,
3. Ask the Lord to speak to you,
4. And reflect on the following questions and related thoughts.
You should find these to be simple, but not simply "gushy" and brief, but enough to be meaningful.
You know that as a Christ followers giving attention to a passage of Scripture can help us:
* Regain perspective
* Be refreshed by God's overwhelming grace
* Reaffirm our dependence on Jesus
* Correct our not-so-right ways
* Gain the wisdom we need for all of life
* And bring everything to the Lord in prayer
With that in mind, the question is: Am I taking enough time to interact with the Lord through his Word, allowing Him to...
* Challenge my thinking,
* Release my emotions,
* Stimulate my imagination,
* And invade my privacy with His presence?
Personally, I love my "prayer walks."
Nothing fancy here and certainly nothing new. Just simple, step-by-step movements combined interacting with Jesus.
This I need to do because there's always too much to do, right?
These walks break into my world and allow me to stay in touch with the One who constantly desires to invade my world but quite often I'm afraid encounters a door with an unwritten sign on it that reads: "Too Busy To Stay In Touch With You, Lord."
Yes, I'm sure you know the question: How's my life right now? Am I too busy, distracted, or undisciplined to pray?
Should that be the case with you -- as it is too many times with me -- try this simple exercise.
Write down the two biggest obstacles standing between you and the life of prayer you desire:

Now write down a single creative solution to begin breaking
down one or more of those barriers so that you can move forward in your personal spiritual growth.
