Let me explain. What is the metabolism and metabolic rate all about? Understanding this is the first step toward you losing weight.

Let me break it down for you, metabolism is our body chemistry system for storing fat and burning fat. It is the watch guard that regulates how our calories are used.

This article is about how you can use this knowledge to lose weight. If you have a high metabolic rate does that mean you can lose weight more easily? Is there a way you can increase your metabolic rate and burn more fat? Let us answer some of those questions right now.

Your metabolism and your weight are not as closely is related as you think they are-remember that as we go along.

If you're stuck in the old world thinking that your metabolic rate is directly proportional to how much you weigh-if it's high you're thin and if it's slow your fat, then you need to make some adjustments. And the biggest misjudgment of all is to feel that it is impossible for you to lose weight at all because your metabolism is slow.

What I would like you to realize with this piece of advice is a slow metabolism is not a hindrance, it is simply another factor which needs to be considered when choosing which weight loss program is best for you.

Regardless of how much you're overweight are other factors to consider rather than your metabolism that could be affecting what your current body weight is. How old you are, what can a lifestyle you live, and your gender are just a few things that can be what helps set your weight.

If given a choice for two aides to help you along in your weight loss journey I would recommend choosing getting consistent activity throughout your day and drink plenty of water to help the process along. We human beings are creatures who majority of our bodies are constructed of water. If you removed all the water in our body they will be very little physical mass left.

Besides the obvious effects of clearing unwanted toxins out of our systems and benefit is that it helps increase their metabolism. By drinking a lot of water you turn your body into a fat burning machine.

There are two points regarding exercise that can help boost your metabolism. By having a muscle building program you increase your muscle mass and your lean body mass is greater, you now consume more calories and you use more calories. The second aspect is aerobic exercise-that's not to say you need to do strenuous activities like a running skipping rope or putting in tons of miles on a treadmill. No, I'm simply saying you need to maintain more physical activity throughout your day. This might mean taking several short walks of let's say 15 minutes or so.

Metabolism tip number 3

Starvation diets can be your worst enemy when you're trying to lose weight. Your body is a stupid when it notices you are taken unless food it takes countermeasures. It's sort of goes into hibernation and protects you against a time of starvation by using less calories. So you get caught in an endless cycle... the less you eat ... the less you burn.
