When you hold up a detailed mirror to your life and weigh yourself against your ideal image of yourself, you might not be able to see the things that make you truly unique. Giving yourself permission to appreciate all the universe has given you, however, will prompt you to feel more secure about yourself and more able to use your gifts and talents to their fullest.
It might seem, for example, that you do not have nearly as much going for you as you perceive others do. You might judge your ability to do something or feel self-conscious about the way you look. It does not matter how this feeling manifests in your life, but it is important to be aware of your thoughts and how they impact your view of yourself. Remember that insecurities arise for everyone-even those who appear to be extremely self-assured-you will find it easier to step back from the uncertainty that lies within and take a more realistic look at yourself.
In truth, what you expect of yourself might be a tall order. You need to use an accurate yardstick to evaluate yourself. You are human, full of glorious imperfections that make you who you are. Recognizing this may take some time at first. If your uncertainties begin to surface, taking deep breaths while at the same time acknowledging each one of your gifts will help you become more centered. Doing this allows you to see your wonderful gifts and talents that lie within and lets your inner beauty shine forth more brightly into the world.
