The Botox and Beauty Equation

There is an equation that floats around the minds of countless women and more increasingly, men these days, and that is Botox = Beauty. It's very simple. In order to keep looking young and wrinkle free, the best solution is to have botox injections. There are many cream botox alternatives on the market place today, and can cost anything upwards from a few pounds. These creams have limited success, and the results are very temporary. They work by plumping the wrinkled area and making it appear to be smoother. It's a chemical trick and it will take a few applications before you see any results. Seeing yourself age so quickly as the paralysis wears off, jolts you into action. You must get your next fix. You must have more treatment. You must stay looking young. And sadly, this is what can happen to some people, especially women in their forties and fifties. They repeatedly have botox treatment to try and retain their youthful looks, but mother nature has other ideas. Botox is a miracle drug, that's for sure, but you can't inject the whole body. You might have a smooth forehead, and no wrinkles around the lip or every area, but the years keep passing, and soon these women reach their fifties and sixties. There must come a time when they should stop. They can no longer frown, or smile and their faces are expressionless. I feel sad for these people. Botox does have a place in society, but people must be sensible about it. I think there is danger of the treatment going underground and unskilled practitioners will be giving injections of inferior or impure botox to unsuspecting people. They may get a cheap quick fix, but they run the risk of getting infections or worse.

The Governments need to control use of this drug more tightly and pass laws to ensure it can only be administered by qualified doctors or medical people. It is possible for existing medical people to take special botox training courses to become qualified to give botox injections. These should also be closely monitored by the Government to ensure only eligible people are allowed to sit the courses.
