If you are thinking of transforming your digital photos on canvas then it’s not only a brilliant idea for some wall decoration but it’s also a great gift for a loved one to. If you are having a canvas print done with an online company then it’s also a very good idea and good practise to actually ask them how the canvas is made and what materials is used because the worth thing and the last thing you want is to spend allot of your own money on a brilliant idea and not get the quality and service that you really should get. Most canvas prints are made from either pollycotton canvas or the 100% cotton canvas. This canvas is also the inkjet based canvas which helps the digitally printing image dry and stay on the canvas and look amazing to. My preferred canvas to see a photo printed on is the pollycotton canvas, reason being is because the 100% cotton canvas is very bulky and doesn’t give a modern look or feel as to the polycotton canvas does and provides a better all round look. Another reason why i would say that the cotton canvas isn’t the preferred is because if you’re a printer like me you need something that is easy to use but this type of canvas take a long time to dry and is very hard to stretch over stretcher bar frames while trying to get a perfect tight stretch as it simply just breaks while pulling at it. Although you do have the benefits of both different canvas i would choose the polycotton type, not for getting though if you did want an old fashioned canvas look for your canvas print then the 1005 cotton would be the better option as it really does look like real canvas due to its bulky texture and deep pours. The next thing to think about when your transforming your canvas photo is to make sure that you give the person that is processing your canvas print order a big enough file size and big resolution for printing with. By this I mean the actually file needs to be over half an mb to make a clear canvas print. It’s easy to find this out. If you go to your image that is on your computer then all you have to do is right click the go to properties and check the size of the file there. This will let you know if the image is good enough to print form. Most modern cameras have a good pixel taking lens inside them so you should be ok in most cases, its more from the cameras that you have on mobile phones that you need to check first before sending your photo to be printed on canvas.I hope it has helped you decide and how to go about ordering a canvas print from your very own memories as I would find this helpful if I didn’t know anything about the printing world.
