One Hour Opt In List

What if you could build an opt in list in just an hour a day? Many of us spend several hours all at once and then sit back and wait for email addresses to pour in. It just doesn’t work that way.By dedicating an hour each day to building your opt in list, you will most definitely see results. You just have to be persistent and dedicated. Once you reach your goal, you could probably drop down to just 15-30 minutes a day, but why ruin a good thing? To start off with, I’m assuming that you have a website. It should already have a way to sign up to your list, whether it’s just a link or a special form. Either way, you’ll need to set up a special page just to sign up for your newsletter. You can set that up in your first hour. The newsletter page doesn’t have to be fancy, just a sales letter to sell your newsletter and a special offer such as a free ebook. By offering a sign up bonus, you’ll entice more people onto your opt in list. You will also need to put your sign up form on this page. This probably will take you less than the full hour!Once your page is set up, you need people to see it in order to get them to sign up. One of the best ways to do this is article promotion. So, two or three days a week should be set aside to do article promotion. Remember, all this is to be done in just one hour per day. For the first 40 minutes or so, you’ll be writing an article related to your ezine theme. It doesn’t have to be long, just 400-600 words is perfect. If you really hate writing, try working up a list with an introduction paragraph and a brief summary at the end.Now you are going to spellcheck your masterpiece (another five minutes) and then the most important part . . . submit it to free article directories! You can find hundreds of these by doing a simple search. My personal favorite and the one that has proved most useful for my website is Ezine Articles.Since submitting articles can take up a lot of time, you might consider investing in an article submission program. In just a few minutes, your articles will be submitted to hundreds of directories. Otherwise, you need to submit each one by hand.Your remaining one hour days should be spent alternating between submitting articles to directories (unless you have the article submission program) and working on other areas of promotion. I would suggest writing an ebook (over several one hour time slots) or a series of reports that you can give away free. With free info products, you need to monetize them in other ways than just the obvious (selling them). That means weaving affiliate links into the text or adding ads to your product. But the most valuable way to indirectly monetize is to require people to give you their email address in order to receive the free product. You can do this by having an autoresponder form on your product sales page. The autoresponder can send the real download page URL directly to the email. This is a great way to build your list quickly, people love free things, so they are usually more than willing to give away their email in order to get an ebook that really interests them. When your ebook is finished and formatted, you will spend at least one hour a week submitting it to ebook directories and offering it to other ezine owners who might want to review it for their readers. Every time someone downloads your book off someone else’s site, you are gaining an email address for your opt in list.Your week will now look something like this:Monday: Write a new article and submit to 10 directories
Tuesday: Finish ebook and publish
Wednesday: Submit articles to 25 directories
Thursday: Submit ebook to 10 directories
Friday: Write an article and submit to 10 directories
Saturday: Write an article and submit to 10 directories
Sunday: Write and publish a reportOpt in list success cannot just appear suddenly overnight. You need to work at it and what better way than by setting aside just 60 minutes a day to do specific chores related to list building?
