| With the price of genuine diamonds ever increasing and the emergence of conflict diamonds, fake diamonds have popped up everywhere. They look like the real thing and any many cases it takes the trained eye of a seasoned certified jeweler to tell the difference between a fake diamond and a genuine one. When thinking in terms of fake diamonds, there are usually two trains of thought:Accept No Substitutes - Fake Diamonds Not AllowedIn one train of thought, many jewelers take great exception to fake diamonds. Their belief is, unscrupulous sales reps are attempting to pawn off the fake stuff as real. And to a degree they are right! The fakes have gotten so good, that even jewelers can have a hard time telling them apart from natural ones. Of course, this ideology is being aggressively promoted by none other than the ones involved in the manufacturing and marketing of fake diamonds. Over time, a combination of the heat and tremendous pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch forms a rough uncut diamond, which is eventually forced to the earth's surface to cool.
