Concerns For Gudmundsson - Or Just West Ham?

I am a keen supporter of the Icelandic takeover thus far. They have dealt amicably with everything thing they have had thrown at them these past couple of seasons. The PR qualities that they have shown have so far been better than we have ever been used to.Here is my concern however. When Magnusson was chairman, yes he made some serious budgeting mistakes and yes he had a funny looking head. But one thing he made sure to deal with appropriately was his dealing with Terrence Brown. He withdrew any benefits that Brown had at the club and also made it known that he didn't deserve any of those benefits. He did his best to eliminate any remnants of Brown's 'empire' over the club. Most importantly, through his actions, he made it known to Brown, to the fans and to the rest of the footballing world that Terrence was no longer welcome at our club.Brown being Brown though came crawling back claiming that it was "unfair" that we had taken away his parking space at the ground. And, to the club he "supports", took out legal action. I think most fans, no matter what breed, were pretty suprised at his barefaced cheek. The club have released this statement regarding the matter -The settlement brings to an end all outstanding disputes between the two parties. -It is time to move on from old disputes and legal battles. My focus, and that of the whole Board, is on the future. To do that we need to draw a line under past issues and also recognise that what matters is building a successful football club.Yes BG, this is all very true and very honorable. Definitely something that as fans we want to hear. Here is my concern however, the next part of BG's comment: -Terry Brown has a long history with West Ham United as former Chairman and leading shareholder and there is no reason for the club and Terry to be at odds with each other. We have settled our differences and Terry will be a welcome guest at the club as we move forward into the new seasonNo BG, this is not at all true. There is a definite reason for us to be at odds with Brown. He happily sold any decent asset that came out of the club, he then nearly financially ruined our club, he then got us involved in potentially the most fraudulent signature ever 'made'...and then had the cheek to sue us.He is not welcome at our club as we move forward into the new season.Brown is obviously delighted with the news and reckons that: -I will again have an opportunity to show my support for the club. That's right Terrence, you can now show your support for the club. Loyalty right there. Basically he has just said that he only supports us when he is filling his pockets with our money. If he stops getting anything out of us, then of course he no longer supports us.So why has BG rolled over to this? I understand that the case did have to be resolved in some way or another, but it doesn't mean that Brown is welcome at the club.Eggert made the right decision in the first place with his hardline approach....Brown you are not welcome at our club anymore. The right way to put the past behind us it to let him back in the ground, cruising around with a smug little grin in his Bentley with number plate 7URD.I haven't even moved onto the fact that Kia has been employed by us.http://www.whufc.com
