If you want plants to grow you have to sow seeds. On your own personal development you read, listen to CD's, or watch inspirational movies. Those are ways to nurture and support your vision. I have an enormous library of motivation, inspirational and personal development programs. They are all pretty good. They keep me on track. The work a day world will do almost anything to disabuse of the idea that you can have the life that you want. Many people would love to have the life that I do. What they don't see is all the work that goes into your own business. It takes vision and purpose to make it happen. I had no idea what it will take to become successful on my own. It has been years since I had been self employed though my background encompasses everything from accounting to management, and from consultant to coach. Yes, I have been putting out lots of energy and effort. Is it rewarding? Of course, I don't get up with the electronic roster anymore. I get up when I want. My time is my own, to do with what I wish. Does it come with a cost? Certainly, anytime you start a business it will cost you money no matter what.Yet when I see all that I have accomplished in so little time, I'm amazed. I have built a website, published a newsletter, wrote a book, set up a working office at home. I am a participating member of the local chamber of commerce. Belong to toastmasters, and I am a public speaker. I believe that all this could not have happened had I not decided to do something about a certain situation. But, I look at this as what one can accomplish with sufficient, motivation, skills and abilities. I wasn't a writer, I wrote a book, I wasn't a speaker, I am now. I was not involved in my community, now I am.You see I set that all up as the vision that I had of myself. That vision has come to pass. The only reason is that I persisted and didn't quit when things were bleak. I keep pushing, persisting, learning and applying. Did I make mistakes along the way? Yes, many of them. Were they costly? No not really, I actually learned from every error.Did I have help? Of course I got mentors and coaches and still have them today. This is the support I needed to get beyond myself and the paradigms that try very hard to send you running away from what you really want.Am I privileged? No, I am not, just very ambitious and motivated. I just knew what I wanted. I formulated my business plan and took action. I have modified my plan, but the main focus has not been altered. Everything that I set out to I have done. You see you just need to realize that you can make things happen. There is a lot that you can do on your own. There are people who will be willing to do the work you don't care to do and others that will help and support you. You are not going to get away from one basic fact, you need others to succeed. It is very rare that anyone succeeds completely on their own steam. Jim Rohn once said that people will make you rich. The idea is that the thought was the seed. My idea was impressed in my soul. I wouldn't let it go as in other times that I did. This time I took that seed, that idea, and I nurtured it, took care of it, fed it and now it is blossoming. For many of those who have not realized their dreams, I want to let you that it can happen. Maybe you just need some help. You need to understand that it doesn't happen overnight, it will happen when the time is right. Your job is to nurture the seeds that you are sowing. That is all. Nothing else is required. You will get the harvest from the seeds that you have sown, and it will happen as long as you persist and you are in alignment with that idea, that seed which was planted.Nurture your soul just as much as you would nurture a child. It is important that you do so. The vision, the idea of what you want to do, has to be well defined sometimes you may have to redefine it, but the theme when you have it impressed well in your soul will start moving you into the direction of your dreams. Visualize act and realize the things that you want and hope for. Keep to the plan and review it, know it and live it. You won't go wrong if you turn to the Divine. The universal mind will give your exactly what you want from what you have sown.John Tebar personal and business coach consultant, author, public speaker, Entrepreneur sign up for free mastermind mailing list.
