I Think Tank Therefore There You Are

Someone very important once said; "I Think Therefore I am" and yet with in a think tank, we think therefore there you are. Let me explain, you see a think tank solves the world's problems and comes up with solutions in advance of the challenges that lie ahead to prevent them from ever happening in the first place. Often, think tanks have a pipeline to legislative decision makers, who rely on these noble gentlemen to feed them important and relevant summaries, concepts and solutions. So then, you might consider joining a Think Tank if you have a high IQ or strong intellectual capacity. If you are an expert in your field of endeavor, area of science or specialize in problem solving then you are a valuable asset to any group that hangs a sign above the door reading; Think Tank.In the Online Think Tank, which is a unique hybrid think tank for super human minds, we often have diverse topics ranging from Earth Sciences to Human Civilization considerations and thus we scour data and information from things such as News Reports, Research Papers, Books, Policy Legislation and Internet Information. Below are some of the topics from last weekend:1. Can we prevent crop disasters from Hurricanes in the Caribbean Islands and Gulf Coasts? In 2005 Hurricane Wilma hurt the Tobacco crop in Cubu, Hurricane Andrew devastated the Honduras coast taking out crops essential to their economy and in 2007 Hurricane Dean wreaking havoc on Banana Crops in Jamaica man. These are certainly not isolated incidents at all.Can "Chevron" shaped breakwater slightly off the coasts minimize winds and storm surges? Wind Tunnel and Fluid CadCam modeling proves it might, should we be thinking here, the mathematics hold it may just do the trick and preventing one crop failure every 10-years would pay for its costs to build in 15-20 years depending on the size of the storms.2. Everyone who has studied economics knows that free-markets are twice as efficient as the best government models. Is this why Sandy Springs, GA has outsourced its entire city government to be run by free-enterprise? A Denver Based Corporation is running the city now. Will such models prove to be better futuristic models and thus allow more cities to dump the bureaucracy for a corporate business hybrid local government? Time will tell, but our think tank likes the experimentation and the citizens seem to like the lower taxes, reduced crime and better run city as well.3. Why is the Junior Congress Person Obama cutting back on the his debate schedule? Is it fear of the Clinton Political Machine or fear that Obama will make another huge mistake, as he did in the comical U-Tube debate? About all Obama can do now to cover that unfortunate display of naïve-ity episode is to go and meet with Iran's President and Hugo Chavez and have positive results, other than that, it will haunt him until the end.4. Medicare says it does not cover hospital or surgery mistakes - but should it, asks the Online Think Tank? After all there are remedies for mal-practice and yet somehow the patients are asking what if someone comes in with Medicare and they make a mistake, will Medicare defend the patient? No, nor will they now pay to fix the problem and someone poor on public health rolls, may not be able to afford an attorney to make things right. In extreme cases such as the wrong leg being cut off, then what? These are ethical issues that will need to be addressed and these recent court cases could make their way up the ranks to higher courts, time will tell, what say you?5. On the Organic Crops VS. Pesticide debates what happens when all the produce has holes in it and how much chemical protection is warranted to kill the rodents and how much is potentially possible before the poison enters the human food supply chain anyway? This kind of takes the nutrient debate right out of the tomato and a recent interesting article in Christian Science Monitor; "750 million rodents devouring crops in Spain Voles have caused $30 million worth of damage to crops." By Lisa Abend and Geoff Pingree; certainly makes a point.6. Don't Forget Your Second Wind - says the popular song by Billy Joel. And to that point there have been others who have stated the power of pressing on [Calvin Coolidge] and the reality that the secret to success is Never Ever Ever Ever - Ever Give Up [Winston Churchill]. Another cool quote emailed into the Online Think Tank was one by Bertie C. Forbes; "History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats." Indeed, it has been said again and again that Winners Never Quit and Quitters never win. So, keep reading and thinking if you want to solve mankind's problems.7. Perhaps are aware of the recent 7.9 - 8.0 earthquake that devastated the West Coast of Peru. From Lima many felt aftershocks that rattled the airport and they got a sense of the terror the people that the people Ica and Pisco must have experienced during this catastrophic disaster. Amazing, how people come together after disasters, this one killed 600 plus people and some were buried alive and potentially may never be found.8. Sharing Recipes can be fun and a healthy diet is important for those who have their brain power turned up high and wish to maintain it for hours on end. And you thought a think tank only considered the needs of others? Well, if your mind is running on empty you cannot be too much use to solving the complex problems of the species, so here is a recipe that was sent in from an on looker:Tuna SaladIngredients1 ea Env. Golden Onion Soup Mix1 1/2 c Milk10 oz Frozen Peas & Carrots *8 oz Medium Egg Noodles **6 1/2 oz Tuna, Drained & Flaked2 oz Shredded Cheddar Cheese ***Instructions* Frozen Peas & Carrots should be thawed. ** Egg Noodles should be cooked and drained. *** Cheese should equal 1/2 C1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, blend golden onion recipe soup mix with milk; stir in peas & carrots, cooked noodles and tuna.
