Adaptability

Adaptability is the ability of a person to blend him / her self according to the external situations. In the world of today, irrespective of any working environment that you live in, adaptability is considered a quality. In interviews and other places where a person is judged, adaptability is one quality that everyone looks out for. But, is it really a quality?According to me, adaptability is the weakness of a person that lets him succumb to any external environment that he enters. Irrespective of the nature and behavior of the person, he behaves as he is expected to. Here again, expectations vary from person to person, and a so-called adaptable person tries to please everyone by molding his own personal terms and beliefs according to others. After all this contemplation, should adaptability still be considered a positive quality?Rather than testing a person for strong-ness of his character, companies and firms today are judging him on the weakness of it, and rather naming it 'the best quality'. Firms always want people who can work on their whims and fancies, and declaring yourself as 'adaptable' you make the first mistake of declaring your own self as a puppet of their hands. Again the same question, is it right? There is nothing morally or ethically wrong in it! The whole process lies, however, in the mindset of the person. The viewpoint is a personal thought. Though I myself am not against adaptability, but when the thought did strike me, I thought it to be quite sensible!!Tarang Bhargava is the CEO of Vexat Inc. and has an affiliate marketing experience of six years.
