What is Nanovor? Popularity:

Article by Rocky Schwarz

So what exactly is Nanovor? Well, the best way to answer this is to start off with the basics. Nanovor is a one-of-a-kind game that stretches from the online realm into reality. This digital card game from Smith and Tinker is also unique in the sense that it is free to try out and you will even receive free Nanovor cards! The goal of the game is to collect different "Nanovor creatures" and build them into a strong deck, or in Nanovor lingo, a "swarm".

Then, the players use their swarms to either complete quests, trade, or compete in battles. So how do players collect creatures? Well, as with every thing in this world, not all of it can be free and to get creatures that aren't included in the free starter pack, players will have to spend "Nanocash" which is the currency of Nanovor. However, to evolve characters is free and is possible by using points earned from succeeding in a battle to purchase an energy modulator, or EM, which then can be used to start the evolving process.

So what exactly sets Nanovor apart from all those other card games and online digital realms? Well, how about just two words; "the Nanoscope". The Nanoscope, a small electronic device with a built in screen, will be sold starting in October and will allow the game to transition from online to reality and back again, all with technology that is easy for kids to understand and reasonably priced for the parents as well. The devices can hook up via USB to any computer and then can be loaded with the user's creatures and stats.

Then the user can carry the Nanoscope wherever they please and use it to do all sorts of neat things. For example, if the user has friends who also have Nanoscopes, they can all link them together via built in magnetic connectors for a massive battle that will play out across all the screens! Even better, all the stats and records from the battle will be stored on each player's Nanoscope and can be later, at any time, synced with a computer which will then upload the information to Nanovor's servers. Nanovor will then update the profiles of the individuals involved in the battle with their new battle stats and earned points.

There is even more though! The Nanoscopes can also be used to play four different mini games for chances to earn another kind of Nanovor points called "Jolt Points". These "Jolt Points" can then be used to further upgrade your creatures in ways that the normal battle points can't. Furthermore, if all that doesn't satisfy a user, the Nanovor site even offers an additional cartridge for the Nanoscope which will allow the players to experience extra challenges, for a nominal fee of course.

So, what exactly is Nanovor? As you can tell from this article, this question elicits no simple one-word response, because the world of Nanovor is a lot more complicated and evolved than a simple answer. You also can't really use a comparison to explain what Nanovor is, because almost no other game comes close to it in terms of complexity and interactiveness. So what is Nanovor? Well, in a lack of better terms, it is the best game you will every play.
