Internet marketing in the early days had very little to do with video and audio. In fact, you could quite easily setup a website in less than an hour, get it up and running with content, and begin the journey to placing it up in Google with a few days. Those days are long gone as spammers have infiltrated the indexes of all of the major search engines all over the world. Google has wised up to the fact that this does in fact go on, and developed algorithms that block this activity out.

As search engine have become more sophisticated, so to have online search engine marketing firms, who are continually looking for new ways to distribute content across the web.

The current buzz is without doubt video marketing. People are more and more placing their video content on sites such as YouTube and on social networking websites. Here, they get seen, viewed and reviewed. The search engines take this into account as they look to see user interactivity, which bodes well with the search engines.

With video becoming more and more sophisticated, we will be seeing how internet marketing will take advantage of this to offer the user more.

Aside from video, online music is big business and many SEO firms have looked into how they can use audio as a way to distribute content too. Many companies take learning and education seriously and use podcasts and other audio files to allow people to download, listen and learn from them.

With these audio files you can add tags and make them more search engine friendly. This can make crawling them so much easier and give them a chance of being found.

With video, you can use these podcasts and syndicate the content across many channels, one of which being RSS. Performing such SEO tasks can indeed add to the quality of the overall links structure, and give your site more coverage across various channels.
