The world is heading towards a recession during this summer. The mainstream businesses know about the outcome; manufacturing will decelerate whereas fundamental commodities and services will generally live through the tempest. What will be the fate of GIS services outsourcing in this scenario?
The media is saturated with news about the countries all set to jump onto the outsourcing trend. For outsourcing industry, this is the ripe time as western clients are outsourcing more business offshore to reduce their costs.
It is not a slowdown time for GIS outsourcing. Actually there will be an ascent in business and profits due to the inflow of new prospective clients. It is a fact that more companies are trying to access the benefits of outsourcing to survive the through the recession.
May be it is too early to judge the outcome of the recession. But by outsourcing the GIS services, which need a lot of technical expertise to accomplish each and every project, either low-end or high-end, the GIS companies save on much of their time, energy and resources. It is not an easy task to recruit and maintain experienced GIS professionals or stepping ahead without updating innovative technologies in time.
Georeferencing and mapping services gain more prominence in the background of Christmas time as people might need to locate their long lost friends or relatives. GIS services attain more significance in this time of festivity and offer fresh promises to the GIS service providers.
The business tycoons in the outsourcing industry including the GIS services has the insight to know that recession will not play foul on their turnover but it will gradually accelerate the profit.
Though the picture of recession is not that rosy enough, the business world will continue to outsource because the GIS services are in great demand at present and the only way to do business without shouldering any loss is to outsource.
Though we are swaying in the wind of recession the GIS professionals are working round the clock as geography and geographical information needs has no limits and framed horizons.
From the grueling work schedule, the GIS professionals get time to spend with their families only in this festival time. Outsourcing GIS services is their only way out to celebrate this hot summer vacation without worries about their job.
Though economic recession has cast its shadows on many industry verticals, GIS services or outsourcing as a whole is lucky enough to swim through the difficult waters and this summer will be brighter for them comparatively.
