Are you currently building a list online? If you are not, you really should be starting right now! And if you are, congratulations. You are already ahead of the curve.
Well, here's a system that will allow you to build a rabid subscribers list in record time. It does require a little investment, but it gets you leads and traffic on the cheap, and uses an AdWords tactic that is *still* underused:
1) Build an opt-in page. The purpose of this opt-in page is to collect leads into your marketing funnel. Nothing else. This page usually consists of a headline, some bullet points, and an opt-in form you can generate from your autoresponder account.
2) Start a 'Placement Targeting' campaign on AdWords. You will be able to find this option in your AdWords control panel. Go to 'placement-targeted' when starting a new campaign.
3) Target sites in your niche area with high traffic and aim to place your AdWords ads on these pages. You can estimate the amount of traffic a website is getting by heading over to Alexa's nifty traffic ranking tool.
4) At the same time, bid on 'Content Network' ads and bid for clicks. You can get traffic for $0.01 per visitor if you do it right with less competitive. The traffic will not be the most highly targeted, but let's just say you get 1 targeted visitor out of every 10. That costs essentially just 10 cents for a visitor, much better than what you would normally get on traditional AdWords advertising, where you might pay $0.50 or more.
Keep in mind, this AdWords tactic is highly underused but it is terribly effective. And when combined with list building, it is a force to be reckoned with!
