When preparing a business plan to submit to potential investors it helps to have a prototype model, complete costs needed to prepare a prototype or an actual completed prototype to show them. I always recommend completing the prototype yourself if possible to show to investors. Below is a statement about prototype designs for a business plan. This sample "rough draft" statement is for an oral hygiene product that was invented by Charles Shooster in the 1990s. Please read this sample to get an idea on the thought needed to prepare such a statement for your business planning process: Prototype Designs We will continue to modify our prototype to meet the needs and desires of our customers and take suggesting from them as to how best to improve our product. We will listen to our vendors and find ways to cut costs in packaging, shipping, materials and manufacturing. The field of Thermo-plastic Welding has come a long way and we intend to stay up on the latest new innovations in that sub-sector to reduce costs and time to market, thus streamlining the manufacturing process. Below are several prototype completed designs ready to send to our manufacturing representatives and owners of a few local Southern California based manufacturers. We will be extremely frugal with our purchases to conserve our cash flow and maximize profits. We want to win and we want to make money. --- ---- ---- --- It is important for investors to know your plans and equally important for you to work thru this process. It is alright if you are not completely sure during the initial planning process exactly how you are going to accomplish completion of the prototype on your first draft, but it is important that you set the foundation early on in the planning process.
