Fresh Website Content - Recycling the Old into the New Popularity:

Article by James Chartrand

Fresh content can make or break a website. Putting up new articles or blog posts helps drive traffic and increase interest in your online venture. If you're not a writer though, or don't have the time or inclination to spend some time creating original content, getting that fresh content may mean thinking smarter, not harder.

Take the existing content that you have and read it again. No matter how old it is, there is certainly a new take you can start writing about, a different angle on the same topic, or an update to what you've posted in the past.

There are other ways to get fresh content, too. Can you build a new article around one paragraph in the whole? Separate a section, even if it's just five sentences or so, and expand on what was originally written. The trend of concise writing means that often, we cut back on expanded ideas to focus on fast, tight information.

Visit other websites and blogs to see what they have posted up. Chances are that you have thoughts of your own on the subject. It's okay to recycle someone else's content (to some extent). Considering the subject and either adding to it or disagreeing with it. State your points in your articles, add some backup, and voila - you've got fresh content. Of course, don't steal ideas, phrases, or any of the text and pass it off as your own, though. You want fresh content, not a reputation as a thief who steals to plagiarize.

If you don't want to write your own content, period, end of story, then ask someone else to help. Do you have a friend or associate that might want to write for you pro bono? Plenty of people can write - and write well - but they don't consider themselves writers per se. They may be thrilled to get a chance to write a little bit as a guest or contributing author. You may be able to get free content from them, and boost their ego a little, too!

You can hire someone to write for you. Do you know a freelancer willing to recycle your material effectively? If you don't, there are plenty of writers offering their services at auction sites like Elance.com. Make sure you find a writer who is skilled in his or her profession, well versed in writing for the web, and one who has an interest in your product or service.

If you've bought private label rights articles, you can have someone rewrite them if your contract permits. Be careful though - this type of content creation just means there is more of the same old information for people to sift through. Do you really want to offer that to your clients?

Try to recycle old content into something unique that provides a new spin or opens up fresh ideas. After all, unique content can help you get an edge on the competition. Try to predict upcoming trends, current hot topics that aren't already beaten to death, or niche areas of information where content is lacking.

Remember that recycling old content doesn't mean rehashing it. It means transforming the old into something new and different. Your readers will respect you for providing them with content that stirs up ideas they hadn't thought of or didn't already know.

Are you tired of struggling to write your own articles? Are you throwing away good money on cheap ones that fall flat? Get serious about your online business, free yourself from the chore of writing, and get great content for your website from James Chartrand.
