Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Take advantage of what many call the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. It's easy to make and taste absolutely wonderful.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1-tablespoon vanilla extract

1 egg

1 egg yolk

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

Here's how to prepare your Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough ¼ cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

For a change you can also try this Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe recipe, which I suppose is almost as good as the above. Recipe:

* 1 cup (2 sticks) (226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

* 1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar

* 1 cup (215 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar

* 2 large eggs

* 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

* 3 cups (420 grams) all-purpose flour

* 1-teaspoon baking soda

* ¼ teaspoon salt

* 1 1/2 cups (270 grams) semisweet chocolate chips

Note: Can add 1 cup of toasted and chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts).

Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream the butter. Add the white and brown sugars and beat until fluffy (about 2 minutes). Beat in eggs, one at a time, making sure to beat well after each addition. Add the vanilla and beat until incorporated.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat until incorporated, adding the chocolate chips about half way through mixing. If you find the dough very soft, cover and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).

For large cookies, use about a 2-tablespoon ice cream scoop or with two spoons, drop about 2 tablespoons of dough (35 grams) onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake about 12 - 14 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges. Cool completely on wire rack.
